Marketing tip: Giving more than we receive
Wallace Wattles said, “You can’t give everyone more in cash than you receive, but you can give more in use value than the cash value of whatever you receive.”
A successful marketing entrepreneur knows that you can get great use value from something with a small cash value. When you give more than you receive, you are adding life to the world. Take the example from Wallace’s book “The Science of Getting Rich”. A village chief in the Amazon has some needs to better his business in managing his crops. He is presented the option of taking a tractor or a dozen steel machetes and a sharpening stone. What do you think he takes? He takes the steel machetes because this has more value to him. The tractor is too big for the footpaths, too noisy and difficult to fuel. The dozen machetes offer more value to the other villagers. The distribution of the machetes can be put to more use by the other villagers in gathering plants etc. So it doesn’t matter that he is offered the tractor that’s worth thousands of dollars, it’s the steel machetes that have an exponentially less cash value that brings more value to the chief and other villagers. This adds value to the chief and the villagers more than the tractor.
Think about all the marketing tools out there for you to receive: books, tapes, cd’s, e books, manuals, videos etc. Successful and aggressive entrepreneurs (financial risk takers) know that right combination of these can bring them thousands of dollars. This is why these tools are so effective to one’s personal development, education, and training. If you can buy something for $100 knowing that this program can produce 10 times that in profit, isn’t it worth it?
Many people are apprehensive in purchasing these types of materials. Why is this? It’s because they don’t want to feel cheated by those who have sold it to them. Trust me, there are many great programs out there to benefit your business. And I am not saying go out and find the cheapest resource to better your business. Find the one that will most benefit you! Do the research, find out who else is using the products.
You don’t have to get something for nothing, you can give everyone more than you take!
Thank you
